Relativism, Bioethics and Hate Speech

Hi guys, I'm back from my 10 day conference in Snell's Beach. It was real interesting and cool and I learnt stuff and made lots of new and cool friends. Way cooler than you guys.
I learnt several new things like

Relativism: The basic idea is that my truth is right for me, and my morals are right for me also. There is no objective truth, everyone makes there own idea of truth up. "There are no Absolutes"etc. Basically the idea is full of crap, and contradicts itself all over the place. It started in the 60's, and the once youthful hippies whos mission was to bring down authority have now exchanged their flares and orange tinted glasses for proffessor gowns so they can bring down authority in a much more effective way. People who believe this don't have a right to question why there is evil in the world, because there is no evil. Hitler was just responding to what he thought was right, etc etc. Anyway, if you believe there is no objective truth, place a comment, and convince me why im wrong.

Bioethics: AI is just around the corner, and the 'terminatior race' seems to be highly possible within the next 50 years or something. Nutsy as. Nanotechnology sounds awesome but scary - programmable mini-robots the size of cells (insanely small- you can apparantly fit 1 million into a drop of water). The idea is to inject them into a patient and the nano dudes automatically find their way to the damaged area and repair it. Or if a biochemical weapon is used on a city, they could fly around and eliminate all of the particles. It sounds cool, but combine that with AI and we're SCREWED. And the thing is that from history (nuclear/biological weapons etc) despite huge dangers, if we can do it, we make it. The Biotechnicians are not considering the implications of what they are building, and our present position is quite similar to the 'Tower of Babylon' in Genesis 11, where the human race was trying to make a name for himself, and then God destroyed it and changed everyones languages so they were confuzzled. Cuz God said that "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them." And we are now in the era of all speaking the same language of information. We are screwed. Tell me why I'm a paranoid android with AI.

Hate Speech: Basically its banning anyone from saying anything offencive to others. On the surface its good, but in practise its taking away freedom of speech and invading our privacy. Maxim Institute know more about it then me: http://www.maxim.org.nz/ri/hatespeech.html
so go and be informed. Don't just swallow up what the media says - knowledge is power, and the media distorts true knowledge heaps. Maxim institue is good though - it does its best to provide unbiased information (which in the end is practically impossible due to under-lying WorldViews)
